  • Hoya star filter
  • creates 8-beam flare on light sources ("star effect")
  • best, coated Hoya glass
  • high quality filter frame construction

Star filters create dramatic multi-point light reflections or beams of light, also known as the "star effect," that set off bright or strong point light sources. HOYA star filters have patterns etched into the surface of the filter's high quality optical glass to create the star effect.

Each of the filters, STAR 4X, STAR 6X and STAR 8X, have different line patterns etched into the glass to create the number of light rays for the filter. The star filter creates a beautiful and romantic effect by emitting multiple beams of light emanating from a point light source or bright object in the image. The appearance of the beam may vary depending on the aperture setting, size, strength of the light source, and distance from the camera.

Find the best angle of the star effect according to your personal preference by rotating the filter frame. When shooting a video, rotate the frame to achieve dynamic and rhythmic movement of the rays.

STAR 8
Artistic filter to create a beautiful 8-beam cross flare effect. The HOYA STAR 8X filter creates an 8-beam flare on light sources and is suitable for shooting night lighting, reflections on water surfaces, light falling through leaves, photographs of jewelry and other scenes with tiny light sources.
