The world is big and there is a lot to discover - The best destinations for a photo trip

If you're looking for a photography trip, you should head to at least one of these 10 vacation destinations to get great shots. Here we present 10 destinations and their special features:

  1. The far north: Iceland! Nowhere else is nature as breathtaking as it is in Iceland! Fjords, glaciers to waterfalls as well as geothermal springs and geysers. Iceland demands not only from photographers everything. But also from the equipment it is to be considered that it should be splash water proof.
  2. Hustle and bustle instead of tranquility: New York City! New York City is far from breathtaking natural landscapes, but it is perhaps just the right destination for any architecture photographer, street photographer or food blogger. News York's streets are always bustling with life and every corner offers potential for a new shot. Our tip: A pancake lens or a tilt shift should be in your backpack.
  3. The city of love: Paris! Here, too, city travelers get a taste for architecture, but also for art & culture. Paris should rather be seen as a little advanced training for your own style. Because who visits the Louvre, comes into contact with the greats of the past and one or the other may see one or the other stylistic device, which can be found again and again in recordings & films until today.
  4. Warm Africa! Who travels to Africa, meets a huge variety of animal & landscape types from jungle to dry desert. If you are looking for landscape diversity, you will find it in Africa. If you are looking for animal diversity, you will find a wide variety of wild animals on safaris, for example in Tanzania. If you travel to Africa, you should use a Protector filter especially in the desert and a teleconverter to shorten the distance of the telephoto lenses.
  5. Take photos where others go on vacation: Bali! Of course, you shouldn't travel just for the photos, but Bali is a great place to relax and take beautiful pictures to boot. Whether beaches, temples or traditional art, the diversity of Bali makes the photographer's heart beat faster. We recommend to take a UV filter with you, as well as a ND filter for long exposures. If you want to experience a little more besides meditation and vlogging, you should have a look around Bali culinary!
  6. We stay in the warm and get a little more dangerous: Australia! If you want to go to Australia, you will not only find high temperatures & deadly creepy crawlies, but a variety of landscapes and creatures. Especially photographers with underwater equipment will find great reefs. From kangaroos to koalas, to snakes and spiders, the outback of Australia has a lot to offer for wildlife photographers. So maybe a macro lens should also be in the photo bag!
  7. Northeast of Australia we come to: Japan! Japan is the epitome of culture clash! This is where cyberpunk meets the tradition of spirituality and rituals. Tokyo is the epitome of modernity, fast pace, crazy nightlife, crazy hotels and the skyscrapers. In Kyoto, you will encounter tradition from Shinto shrines, to bathhouses, to traditional zen gardens. Did you know that Kyoto has one of the largest Korean communities? Japan offers a huge variety of climatic conditions across the island. We recommend fast lenses for nightlife and a standard zoom when traveling to Japan.
  8. Film backdrop: New Zealand! If you love Lord of the Rings, you love the landscapes of New Zealand. The large fjords and picturesque villages of New Zealand offer great potential for beautiful shots. But New Zealand also offers exciting wildlife, with Kiwi birds and penguins, wildlife photographers will also get their money's worth. In the freezing winters of New Zealand another special feature of the island shows up, the auroras! They also offer huge potential for unique shots. We recommend a wide angle lens in the range, around 20mm & a large open aperture to capture the auroras.
  9. Rocks and the Icons: Joshua Tree National Park in the USA: If you were hoping for a large forest here, you're a little off the mark; the desert landscape in southern California is home to the iconic Joshua Trees and impressive rock formations. Here we again advise a good protector filter and also an ND filter. Also a tripod can be a gamechanger here and the long exposure of the rocks in the evening glow will create a dreamlike memory. Tips for portraits in the desert: Use the inside of a 5 in 1 folding reflector to use the sun as a softbox.
  10. The Cornish Coast, England: The Cornish coast in southwest England offers spectacular scenery, including cliffs, beaches, and quaint fishing villages.

Our partner: African Dreamtravel

"Welcome to Africa. On our website we would like to inform you about different fascinating countries in southern and eastern Africa. Our love for Africa began in 2006 during a vacation in Namibia. Since that time we have been fascinated by Africa. From this trip on we regularly traveled to Namibia and the surrounding countries and got to know them more and more intensively. In 2011 we decided to pass on this fascination to other people and founded our travel agency African Dreamtravel. It is important to us that we only offer destinations that we know personally. Right from the start, we didn't want to offer off-the-peg trips, but trips that we have experienced ourselves so that we can use our knowledge to offer you your dream trip.""
