Many new things - tried and tested optimized
The XEEN CF series of XEEN Cine lenses is characterized by the surprisingly small dimensions of the individual lenses and their extremely low weight. With approx. 40% less volume and 20-30% less weight compared to previous lenses, they open up completely new possibilities for filmmakers. The CF lenses are the first cine lenses in the world to use a carbon fiber lens barrel - hence the name: Carbon Fiber. The absolutely high-quality workmanship and low weight are a big plus of the XEEN CF lenses.
8Kresolution, full-frame image circle
The XEEN CF lenses deliver 8K resolution and an image circle of 43.3mm. This means that full-frame cameras can also use these lenses, as can professional cine cameras such as the ARRI Alexa and Alexa Mini, the Canon EOS C700, the Sony Venice or the RED Helium and Dragon. Cameras with larger sensors such as the ARRI Alexa LF and the RED Monstro can use the XEEN CF Lens in most modes, but not fully in Open Gate. Of course, smaller sensors such as APS-C and APS-H can also be used with the XEEN CF lenses.
Wide range
The XEEN CF lenses are available with PL, Canon EF and Sony E mount. The variable look of the image is another feature of the versatility of these lenses: with an open aperture, you get the typical soft vintage look of older lenses, which is often referred to as "creamy": warm, balanced skin tones, soft bokeh and subtle, harmonious halos. At smaller apertures, the image then becomes clear and "crisp": crystal-clear contrasts and sharpness right into the corners make it possible to capture sober, cool and objective images. In combination with ND filters, completely different looks are possible with just one lens.
Ready for every shoot
Details such as the luminescent markings on both sides of the Lens make working on set much easier. The gear rims for the follow focus systems are now slightly wider than on the classic XEEN Lens, the teeth are higher and have rounded corners. The fast 35 mm T2.6 XEEN CF is internally focusing and versatile.
Like all XEEN CF Cinema Lens, this one also has a resolution of 8K. The front diameter of 95 mm and the position of the aperture and focus ring are exactly the same for all XEEN CF models. This makes changing lenses quick and easy, whether in a rig or on a tripod, even with a follow focus system installed. This lens is 113.7 mm long.
As is usual with cine lenses, this XEEN CF lens also features distance and aperture values that can be read on both sides, as well as gear rims for the gridless, infinitely adjustable aperture and smooth, precise focusing using Follow Focus. With a diameter of just 95 mm (instead of the 114 mm of the previous XEEN lenses), the diameter of the Lens has also shrunk significantly. The price-performance ratio of the XEEN CF lenses is therefore excellent.
Use and quality
This lens series is also ideally suited for use on gimbals, drones or car rigs. The sharpness performance is impressive even when the aperture is fully open and can be precisely controlled via the 200° long focus path. The closest focusing distance is 33 cm and the aperture travel is 40°. The exact weight, dimensions and further information can be found in the technical data.
