Developed for videography and photography
With the Samyang 8/3.1 Fisheye VCSC, you are equipped for both video and photography without having to make time-consuming changes to your camera. The aperture can be adjusted continuously, minimizing exposure transitions. The aperture ring and focus ring have a gear ring and are therefore optimized for use with follow focus systems. Lens for APS cameras!

Exceptional creative possibilities
Whether panorama and landscape photography or unique effect images - thanks to the special depth of field and an image angle of 180°, there are no limits to your creativity. The Samyang 8/3.1 Fisheye VCSC offers photographers and filmmakers a wide range of creative possibilities, especially for spherical panoramas. Straight lines that are not in the center of the image are shown as falling and the distortion is strongly barrel-shaped. At 8 mm, this special type of lens has a particularly short focal length for its image format size, which means that the image is depicted with curved shapes. This gives images taken with the Samyang Fish-Eye its typical spherically distorted perspective. Focusing and aperture adjustment are manual.

Outstanding optical construction
All 11 glass elements of the Lens are multi-coated, resulting in an excellent contrast and sharpness range as well as a balanced color balance. Thanks to the use of three ED (extra low dispersion) and two aspherical lenses, chromatic aberrations and spherical aberrations are corrected. The particularly high-quality optics of the Lens ensure optimum image results. The high lens speed of 1:3.1 enables outstanding images even in less favorable lighting conditions. A fixed lens hood prevents stray light and lens reflections from entering from the side. The Lens is suitable for system cameras and is therefore particularly light and handy.

Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor
Lenses developed for cameras with an APS-C sensor can sometimes be used on cameras with a full-frame sensor (mainly using an adapter). However, due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C Lens, the edges will be black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. The use of APS-C Lens on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
