The MB-D18 is a water-repellent and dust-proof multifunctional handgrip. It enables higher frame rates and longer battery-powered use of the D850.
If the D5's EN-EL18B lithium-ion battery is inserted into the MB-D18, the maximum frame rate of the D850 is increased to 9 fps. With one charge of this battery pack, you can take up to 5,140¹ photos and record up to approx. 210 minutes of video.
The MB-D18 also enables more stable handling of the camera when shooting in portrait format. An alternative shutter release and buttons for multi-function selector and AF start facilitate portrait format shooting. The function grip also has secondary front and rear dials.
