Jobu Design Heavy Duty Gimbal Head MkIV
The Jobu Design Heavy Duty Gimbal Head MkIV is the ideal gimbal head from Jobu Design for heavier lenses of average length. This gimbal head continues where the Heavy Duty MkIII leaves off. It is slightly lighter, but just as easy to use and can carry just as much weight. As standard, this MkIV swing head is supplied with a protective cover and a lens plate.

Swing Head or Gimbal Head
The Jobu Design Heavy Duty Mk IV (DMG-HD4) Gimbal Head, also known as Swing Head or Gimbal Head, has been designed to offer complete freedom of movement. The tripod head supports a camera with Lens at its natural balancing point, preventing unwanted tilting. You actually hang the photo camera with (telephoto) Lens in a swinging bracket, hence the name swing head. These are ideal for nature photography, airplane spotting and equestrian sports.

New CNC swing arm
In response to consumer requests, Jobu Design has designed the Heavy Duty MkIV. The BWG-HD4 weighs only 1010 grams. This gimbal head is also considerably stiffer than its brother. The new CNC swivel arm has been upgraded with a horizontal arm milled from solid aluminum, providing better control for large Lens in terms of vibration. The powder coating of the main component and the black anodized aluminum components make this swivel head durable and weather resistant.

Swivel head with needle bearing
The Jobu Design BWG-HD4 is particularly smooth to use. The same needle bearing as the Jr.3 Swing Head ensures unparalleled smoothness and fluid movement of the tilt axis during operation and even with a heavy combination of camera and Lens, horizontal friction remains zero. Rubber-covered adjustment knobs for the degree of friction ensure comfortable operation, making this pan head easy to adjust even when wearing gloves.

Swivel head in combination with a robust tripod
The BWG-HD4 is suitable for lenses and cameras weighing up to 22 kilograms. A 600 mm f/4 with pro-body is no problem at all. Jobu Design recommends using the Gimbal Head in combination with a sturdy tripod with a 3/8 inch tripod screw, a Jobu Design Surefoot lens plate (or another Arca-Swiss compatible lens plate) and a lens with a loose tripod gondola. Short focal length and wide angle lenses can be used with the special W.A.A. adapter. The MkIV is supplied including the Surefoot SF-NXK lens plate. This 3-inch lens plate is suitable for smaller lenses and camera bodies. Also included are an Allen key, a 1/4-3/8 inch taper ring and a camouflage fabric case.
