The Canon R5 offers a 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with a DIGIC X image processor. This allows the R5 to record up to 20 frames per second. The Canon EOS R5 takes its cue from its DSLR equivalent, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III, a camera that is a household name for most professionals, as it stands for reliability and confidence in the working tool.
This is also thanks to the DIGIC X image processor, which gives the EOS R5 a very good level of detail even in dark situations. With that DIGIC X processor and full-frame sensor, the camera offers an ISO performance of up to 51,200.
The R5's autofocus offers reliability at up to -6 EV with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II. With up to 5940 AF positions across the entire sensor, this system camera offers extreme reliability. Even with subject tracking.

Introduced in September 2018, the EOS R System and RF Bayonet expand the capabilities of the proven EOS System. The EOS R System combines the best of the EOS System with even more power, more creative options and creative flexibility. The RF Bayonet, also introduced in September 2018, enables unprecedented new optical designs that allow large lens elements to be placed as close as possible to the sensor, favoring the incidence of light on the sensor. The RF Bayonet improves communication and information transfer between the Lens and camera body - helping to deliver the world's fastest autofocus speed on a full-frame mirrorless camera systemii. The bayonet's short flange focal distance of 20mm and large bayonet diameter of 54mm provide greater latitude for new lens development. The new lens series creates excellent shooting opportunities for all users of the EOS R system, regardless of their needs - from stills and video to landscapes or weddings.
